The Nikon 24-50mm f3.3-4.5 AF Nikkor offers a very useful array of focal lengths for an autofocus zoom lens. At its widest it achieves a 24mm focal length that is perfect for landscape and cityscape photographers while zooming in to a max 50mm focal length that is the standard focal length for most 35mm cameras. Throughout the zoom range the 24-50mm has a variable max aperture from f3.3 at 24mm to f4.5 at 50mm. While a bit slow for a 50mm focal length, the ability to go as wide as 24mm in a compact, autofocus zoom lens is a big draw for many photographers and makes this a great kit lens for many Nikon AF SLR cameras. This lens has a 62mm filter thread.
While primarily meant for use on Nikon AF SLR cameras, this lens is still backward compatible with manual focus Nikon SLR cameras that use AI or AIS lenses (though the autofocus feature will not function when mounted on such cameras).
